Get started

We help you get started and get on board!

01 Safety rules

Life jackets

We encourage everyone to wear a life jacket while on the boat. There is a set of life jackets at all destinations. For more questions regarding life jackets, contact the destination.

Red zones

Driving the boat within the red zones is prohibited. These red zones indicate nearby grounds, private and unauthorized areas. The zones are visible on the mobile when the boat has started.

Right-hand traffic

When meeting, keep to the right with plenty of distance to other boats and any obstacles.

Range

Keep track of the boat's battery status and how much time you have left on the booking using your phone. One hour of mixed driving corresponds to approximately 10% of the battery's capacity.

Sit down during the ride

While Bowter is indeed stable, for your safety and the safety of others, everyone should remain seated in the boat during the journey.

Buoys

Buoys in the water indicate that the water may be shallow. Therefore, it is important to keep a distance from them.

Show respect

Show respect and consideration for everyone on the lake, including wildlife and other boaters. Exercise special caution near swimmers.

Alcohol and drugs

The boat operator must be sober. Any alcohol consumption by the driver is prohibited. Responsible alcohol consumption applies to all passengers.

Garbage

All garbage should be taken back to land and disposed of in a trash bin.

Swimming from the boat

Turn off the engine while swimming. There is a swim ladder at the back of all boats. Additionally, the solar panel can be used as a bathing platform.

In the event of an accident or to report a malfunction

Has an accident occurred? Is something broken? Notify the destination immediately.

02 Book a boat

Create an account

You need to be logged in to make a booking. If it's your first time renting, you'll need to create an account. Having an account is free.

Age limit

You must be at least 18 years old to rent and drive the boat. We have no age limit to go on the boat.

The booker is the driver and responsible

The person who books is the person who will drive the boat. As the driver of the boat, it is forbidden to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver is also responsible for the boat being driven and moored in a responsible manner. Contact us to transfer responsibility if the booker and the driver are not the same person.

Payment

We currently only offer card payment. Payment is made at the time of booking.

Cancellation

Bowter offers a flexible cancellation policy that takes into account different destinations' wave exposure and weather conditions. If the weather is too unfavorable for a certain destination, you can cancel your reservation free of charge. In addition, we offer the option of getting a ride voucher that can be used at a later time or to get the money back, with a cancellation fee of SEK 50.

Please note that if there are less than 48 hours left until your booking, it cannot be canceled if the weather permits riding.

Find the boat

Use our map to locate your boat.

Don't forget to enable location services on your mobile device so you can see where you are in relation to the boat. All boats are labeled with a number. Only the boat with your booked number can be unlocked. You have access to the boat 15 minutes before your scheduled time if it's not occupied.

Control panel in mobile

You control everything except the boat itself (we have the steering wheel for that) through your mobile. It's where you unlock the boat, choose routes, see the boat's battery status and more.

We have mobile phone holders and USB sockets for mobile chargers on the boat.

Unlock

When you locate the boat, there are several QR codes on the boat. You scan one of these codes with your mobile phone by going into camera mode and pointing the camera at the QR code.

Start the boat

After you unlock the boat, follow the instructions on your mobile phone to start the boat.

Routes

If you have no knowledge of the local area, we have put up suggestions for routes.

Range

Don't venture further than you can make it back home (keep an eye on your mobile where the battery status is displayed after you start). The boat has enough capacity for your entire trip, but if any issues arise, our web app has features that allow you to contact our on-site staff immediately.

Return

You return the boat to the same place where you picked it up.

It's important to return the boat on time out of respect for those who have booked after you. If the boat is returned late, a penalty fee equivalent to one hour's rental and an additional charge of 300 SEK will be applied.

Dock the boat
  • Drive forward at a low speed.
  • Turn off the throttle and glide towards the dock.
  • Reverse if necessary and turn the steering wheel to align the boat.
  • Ask other passengers for assistance in receiving the boat as it approaches the barriers.
  • Pull the boat in the final stretch and secure the mooring lines. Secure the boat in all four mooring points if possible. If the boat is moored sideways, secure it with only 2 mooring points.

Don't forget to clean out the boat and put back cushions and similar items.
